APPLICATION TO ESTABLISH THE MONTAGUE GARDENS-MARCONI BEAM IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT (MMID)

APPLICATION SUBMITTED TO THE CITY OF CAPE TOWN TO ESTABLISH A SPECIAL RATING AREA (SRA) TO BE KNOWN AS THE MONTAGUE GARDENS-MARCONI BEAM IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT (MMID)

As your property falls within the proposed boundary of the Montague Gardens-Marconi-Beam Improvement District (MMID), the MMID Steering Committee is pleased to advise you that we have received enough support for the Business Plan dated 18 September 2016 to submit an application to the City of Cape Town to establish the MMID in terms of the City of Cape Town SRA By-Law 2012, as amended 2016 and SRA Policy, 2016.

Any objections to the establishment of the MMID must be submitted in writing to the City Manager,  PO Box 298, Cape Town, 8000 or hand delivered to the City  Manager, 5th  Floor,  Podium  Block, Civic Centre,  12 Hertzog  Boulevard,  Cape Town or e-mailed to eddie.scott@capetown.gov.za. Objections must be received by the City by no later than 20 February 2017.

A public meeting will be held, the purpose of which shall be to inform all attendees of relevant information pertaining to the application, and to discuss the practical implications relating thereto.

The MMID aims to create a safer and cleaner environment for all by providing ‘top up’ services to those provided by the City of Cape Town.  If the application is successful, the MMID will become effective from 1 July 2017.
