Be more vigilant as the festive season approaches. A warning from the Montague Gardens – Marconi Beam Improvement District (MMID).
We know that there is an increase in the run-up to Christmas so please be vigilant.
Gary Bower, our manager of the MMID, was previously a captain in SAPS. Two decades of experience as a policeman has made Gary aware of suspicious activity. He knows what to look for.
While driving on Koeberg Road, he recently noticed five youths pushing two wheelie bins. When he got out of his vehicle to approach the youths, they ran away and abandoned the bins.
The bins were clearly marked as belonging to properties in Disa Road, Milnerton.
The bins were returned to the owners with the help of patroller Kasiem of the Milnerton Crime Watch.
The MMID is trying to network with security companies (operating in Montague Gardens & Marconi Beam but also in the surrounding commercial and residential areas) and neighbourhood watches from the residential areas that neighbour the MMID district.

The MMID urges everybody to be more aware of suspicious actions and movements around their properties and businesses and in their neighbourhoods.
