BOSMANSDAM ROAD FENCE COMPLETED:
When an old and very dilapidated wire fence along the border of Bosmansdam Road needed replacement, MMID took over the entire project – planning, costing and construction – as a service to CoCT. In spite of some material and timing challenges, the fence was completed on February 28.
As an added safety measure, razor wire was added to the top of the fence to prevent pedestrians from climbing over it to cross the busy road. Pedestrian access openings have been provided at safer points along the fence, and signs warn of the dangers of the razor wire.
MMID plans to plant bougainvillaea along the fence to make it more attractive and provide a splash of colour in the summer to welcome visitors entering the area from the N7 side of Montague Gardens.
