DON’T DUMP OR RISK BEING FINED OR YOUR VEHICLE IMPOUNDED
The City’s Anti-littering and Dumping Task Team will be out in full force to bring those who dump to book.
Illegal dumping has a serious effect on the natural and built environment and the City of Cape Town has the responsibility, on behalf of owners and residents, to protect the environment.
The Integrated Waste Management By-law authorizes the City to seize and impound any vehicle used or involved in illegal dumping.
If found to be on the wrong side of the law, offenders could have their vehicles impounded and/or receive fines and impoundment fees of up to R22 400. The dumping of rubble and other waste is strictly prohibited.

We urge all illegal dumping to be reported to Law Enforcement, or if illegal dumping is happening in the MMID, to report it to our office on 021 200 5975.
