About the MMID

The Montague Gardens–Marconi Beam Improvement District (MMID) was established in 2017 by local property owners to enhance, manage, and maintain the Montague Gardens–Marconi Beam area for the benefit of the entire community. Recognised by the City of Cape Town under the CID By-law and Section 22 of the Municipal Property Rates Act, the MMID operates within a defined geographical area, funded by an additional rate levied on local properties.

Our mission is to deliver a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable environment, complementing municipal services through dedicated management and strategic partnerships. We strive to create an attractive, thriving district for those who work, visit, and invest in the area.

Our vision is to continuously achieve excellence in service delivery by implementing innovative and sustainable solutions that add lasting value to our stakeholders and community.

At the heart of the MMID are our core values of transparency, accountability, performance, social development, and sustainability. We believe in open and honest communication, taking responsibility for our actions, and maintaining high standards of excellence through continuous improvement. We are committed to empowering individuals and uplifting communities, while ensuring that economic growth is balanced with social and environmental responsibility. Together, these values guide every initiative we undertake and reflect our dedication to building a district that thrives today and endures for the future.
