Cleaning Initiatives
Keeping the MMID area clean and well-maintained is a daily priority. Our dedicated team of six workers, led by a supervisor, ensures that the district remains neat, welcoming, and environmentally responsible. The area is divided into five sectors, each assigned to a specific day of the week, ensuring that every road is cleaned at least once a week. This structured schedule has proven both productive and cost-effective.
When urgent cleaning issues arise — such as illegal dumping — our supervisor responds immediately, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to efficient service delivery.
Our cleaning team goes beyond simply collecting litter. They clear rubbish that has been dumped, discarded, or blown in by the wind, and make sure that all green Bingo Bins are emptied daily. Once the waste from each area is collected, our team sorts recyclable materials and ensures they are sent for processing, while the remaining refuse is disposed of responsibly at the Killarney Waste Management Site. They take on additional responsibilities such as painting over graffiti and removing gang-related signage, helping to keep the area safe and welcoming for all.
Through these efforts, we take pride in maintaining a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Montague Gardens–Marconi Beam district.
